hands warming body oil before a neck and chest ritual

Ritual Monday: the one-minute décolletage ritual most routines skip

Monday mornings move fast. We wash, we dry, we dress, and the few seconds between drying off and reaching for clothes disappear before we notice them. That gap is where most bodies get skipped: the neck, the collarbone, the upper chest. Not because that skin needs less care than the face, but because it is easier to forget.

The décolletage is thin skinned and expressive. It shows sun exposure, dryness, and years of movement before most other places do, yet it rarely gets its own step in a routine. A one-minute ritual, done at the start of the week, is enough to change that without adding another bottle to the shelf.

The ritual, in four steps

  • Warm two or three drops of body oil between your palms until it turns from cool to skin temperature.
  • Sweep both hands from the centre of the chest outward, following the collarbone toward the shoulder.
  • Repeat up the sides of the neck, working from the base toward the jaw, in slow upward strokes.
  • Finish with a few seconds of stillness, palms resting flat against the chest, before you get dressed.

We reach for something like our Rose Allure Body Oil for this one: light enough to absorb before it meets fabric, rose scented enough to set a calmer tone for the week ahead. Any body oil already in the bathroom will do the same job. What matters is the minute, not the bottle.

Ritual Monday is not about adding more steps to a routine already full of them. It is about noticing where care already stops short, and closing that gap on purpose.
